We celebrate the kook - the beginner, the person who doesn't have it all figured out yet and beyond. We embrace and love the messy, imperfect, first-time of doing something and wipe outs. Everyone starts somewhere. Everyone is welcome here.
It's Really Not That Serious
We don't take ourselves too seriously. Wiping out is part of it. Messing up and making mistakes while laughing is part of it. We don't always know what we're doing, but we're figuring it out as we go, we're doing our best, learning, and having fun. Being perfect is so overrated. Life's too short to not be a kook.
The Ocean Always Provides
The ocean is everything. The ocean belongs to everyone. Everything we do, we keep the ocean in mind. We're committed to taking care of it. We are very intentional with sustainable practices, environmental consciousness, while doing what we can to protect our oceans and the earth.
Everything is Art
Human creativity, art and expression is at the heart of everything we make. We collaborate with artists, support their work, and believe creativity deserves to be celebrated and fairly compensated. Every artist we work with earns royalties, so we can support artists to continue doing what they love.
We're A Team Here
We don't do this alone. The Kook Collective was started in the South Bay, CA by three friends. From our co-founders to our artists to our community, everything we create comes from working together, supporting each other, and cheering each other on. We believe the best things happen when people with different gifts show up for shared values and visions.

We focus on safety and protecting the body, the dome, and the human so we can keep doing what we love to do. Our brand also protects the beginner where every person should feel safe and supported in their journey. We make protective gear for the people willing to try.
Be For Real
We are exactly who we say we are. No performance, no pressure, no exploitation, no shortcuts. We take our time and do what aligns with our values. We do what we say and say what we mean. Being a kook is about showing up as your full, real, unfiltered self, and we hold ourselves to that same standard as a brand.
Spread the Stoke
Stoke is contagious and we want to spread it to everyone. We're building a community where people are supported and stoked to help each other grow - whether that's artists, local businesses, photographers, kooks or silver surfers paddling out. We love to party wave, share waves, and cheer each other to send it - in the lineup and in the community.
